Johnny Sacree is a promising new artist and composer hailing from Southhampton, UK. He has an introspective look into melodic techno, and with melancholy chordal harmonies, both ‘Resistance’ and ‘Resurgence’ have a very familiar feeling to them. Whispers of floating effects and swirling synth layers set atop an atonal techno rhythm make this release accessible both in the clubs and for personal listening. On the C Side is a more stripped back interpretation from label owner Glenn Morrison and it is replete with the motif though with some new riffs as a counterpoint to the original.
