Release Info

Having reached Number 1 on Hype Machine and Release Promo Charts, and with international DJ support on the promos, ‘Jade Garden’ is the latest offering from Glenn Morrison. With arpeggiated melodies and floating textures abound, the original mix is a great modal building song as opposed to a “club feel”, and there are many textured layers of drums which provide a nice minimalism over the bouncy melodic layers atop. On the B Side is a wonderful musician and friend of the Fall From Grace label – Colin Benders. He and his father are an important part of the Dutch music scene, and Colin’s musical art project The Kyteman Orchestra is a live spectacle with sometimes as many as 80 people on stage. The Kyteman Orchestra sold out their entire tour for all 3 albums they released and brought them to headliner positions at festivals like Pinkpop and Lowlands. Internationally they played throughout Europe at festivals such as Umbria Jazz and Rock Werchter. These prefatory notes lead us to the reason why label owner Glenn Morrison wanted to have Colin make some interpretative remixes of ‘Jade Garden’ – the 13 minute plus opus that is the ‘Extended Dream Mix’ is a wonderful building record, whereas the 9 minute club laden version on the C Side suits those more club heavy sensibilities. Essentially this is session musicians working with other session musicians, and the unexpected spark of magic happens when great minds play around creatively, carte-blanche, on artistic ideations and projects.
